The crown chakra is the chakra of illumination, which regulates the mental faculties and memory. It is yellow and is located at the top, or crown, of the head. It has 972 petals and is sometimes referred to as “the thousand-petaled lotus.” The enlightenment of the Buddha and the Christ comes with the release of the light of the crown chakra. It is the experience of knowing all things without being tutored or taught.

The third-eye chakra is below the crown chakra, at the center of the brow. It is emerald-green when purified and has 96 petals. The third-eye chakra is intended to anchor the vision of our Higher Self, the vision of perfection. A purified third-eye chakra enables us to see with our inner eye, to have the gift of inner sight or “in-sight.” It is the orifice of spiritual vision.
