The folder contains information you never would have expected. In a heavily redacted document you read about Project Theia. You have to search the Internet for the meaning of the word; turns out it’s a Roman goddess of sight, a Titan. Cryptic black-ops bullshit.

From what you can gather, Project Theia was a classified experiment with a Hadron collider type device, nothing all that innovative in the search for new subatomic particles. The special thing about said project was that they were able to create a video camera capable of capturing the tiniest particles, capable of seeing things the naked human eye could not detect. To what end you’re not intelligent enough to rightly say, though you assume something to do with research into how subatomic particles work.

The next page describes the team’s shock when they discovered shapes in the footage they captured, shadows moving, and the language is intentionally vague and almost all the rest of the document is redacted.

The next document in the folder simply details the course of events leading to the creation of The Blind Opera. A pissed off scientist stole the video and sold it to a very rich man and avid science nerd. Said man fancied himself an avant-garde artist, a director of the experimental in the vein of Lynch or Bergman. With his tremendous wealth, said man, whose name is redacted in the document, set out to make his sadistic art. He’d gone to court for attempted murder and managed to walk away clean.

As if revolving around a stolen video from a classified government project wasn’t enough reason for the web serial to be taken down swiftly, the document revealed that the last episode of the series, episode six, included a prominent senator.

This information only makes you all the hungrier to watch.

You insert the USB stick into your laptop, shut the Wi-Fi off, and open the folder labeled TBO. You click on the first episode, and the images flash across the screen. A man hacking off his own arm, screaming all the while. Had you not read the document, you’d applaud the effects and cinema verité. But now, of course, you know better, the bile rising in your throat.
