Chapter Four

Jaya slowly stretched and opened her eyes. At first, the light from the large window blinded her. When she realized, she wasn’t at home, she sat straight up, clutching the soft fur-like blanket to her chest.

She gazed around at the large bedroom. All her personal belongings were there, but Jaya didn’t recognize anything else.

“She finally awakes.” Bryn’s deep voice filled the room.

“Where are we?” Jaya turned to watch him move to the end of the humongous bed. His muscles rippled and his eyes glowed as he climbed up onto it. He hovered over her as she lay back down.

“You are at your new home, as I promised. I’ll give you a tour later, but for now I owe you a punishment.” He slowly pulled the blanket from her body as he leaned back on his knees. His gaze followed the blanket as he removed it.

“You have been sleeping for two days. Do you know how worried I was? I don’t like to be scared, Jaya. Turn over.” Bryn didn’t move, but stared at her till she realized what he’d just said.

“What? Two days. You’re kidding, right?” She tried to jump out of bed, but he grabbed her around the waist before she could leave. Faster then she could have moved, he flipped her over his knees.

“You don’t listen very well, do you?” His hand came down on her ass hard.

“No! You can punish me later. Please, Bryn. I have to get ready for my party!” she hollered and tried to cover her ass with her hands, but he pushed them away and swatted her butt three more times.

Tears filled her eyes as she tried to get up again. “Please, Bryn,” she begged, but he held her down firmly but gently.

“Do you know how scared I was? I could have lost you after I had just found you.” He smacked her ass two more times, then she heard his heavy breathing. She looked over her shoulder at Bryn. Tears streamed down his face and his breathing came in hard gasps as he tried to control his emotions.

“Bryn…” she whispered, and he looked at her. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.”

He pulled her up and hugged her, kissing her face. “No, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have punished you. When you didn’t wake up yesterday, Jaya… I called in our medical team. I was so worried.” Bryn pulled back and held her gaze.

“My medical team informed me that healing you had started to change your DNA already. The rush of my fluids inside you from the wound knocked you out. It seems you have a rare blood type and that it took faster to ours DNA, already starting the bonding.”

He picked up her hands and held them up to her, and she gasped as she looked at them. Her scars and burn marks were gone.

“How? I don’t understand.” She turned them over, but found nothing on either side.

Bryn lifted one arm and kissed where the scars used to be. “It seems my blood and your blood will heal either of us quickly when mixed.
