In several interviews Kanye has mentioned Michael Jackson and said that Michael Jackson broke boundaries and that if it wasn’t for him he wouldn’t be here today. Michael inspired a lot of people. To me if it wasn’t for Will Smith then I wouldn’t be here because his message came to me the last minute when I was 11 years old. If I hadn’t watched that ‘Pursuit of Happiness’, then I wouldn’t be here. Kanye also said he’s the only rapper compared to Michael and in an interview he also said that he is going beyond Michael Jackson. A lot of people did not understand that, when Kanye says he is achieving more than Michael he meant he is going beyond music, he didn’t mean he is better than Michael Jackson, he just means that he is breaking more doors. Breaking more doors is the key here, when you open doors a lot of people are going to come through. Michael was considered urban when he was coming up. Now look at who he became, He is the greatest Musician of all time. OF ALL TIME! People would cry when they see Michael, his music just touched everyone and it helped me a lot too.

The reason why I related this Michael Jackson topic to Kanye West is because people just don’t understand this. They think Kanye is going way over his head, but I guarantee you if Michael was here he would’ve approved of that statement. So now Kanye West is getting marginalized by his fans to just do his music and bring the “old Kanye” back, his fans aren’t appreciating anything that Kanye has done instead they misunderstand and demand more. Kanye knows that 2Pac is the most loved in Hip-hop. Kanye Knows that Michael is the greatest entertainer of all time. You can only break a few doors but some things can’t be completed in one lifetime. Michael was passionate about his music and having a better world. As a black artist Michael did so much for us, but as I said you can only break a few doors in a single lifetime, someone else will continue and extend to do things you didn’t do. This is what Kanye means when he says he is going BEYOND Michael Jackson. He doesn’t mean he is better than him, but if Michael is the reason why Kanye is here and most musicians are where they are then why do you want people to just stop there? So you don’t want people to break more doors? Just because Michael broke our biggest doors? Do you feel offended when a record set has been broken to go beyond? When beyond is only helping us? So basically you’re saying the same thing in technology right? It’s like saying don’t make another computer which is better than the previous one, just because the previous person who made that computer was respected. Is that what you’re saying? That’s a limited mentality. I bet you never think beyond 5 footsteps away from where you’re standing right now if you say that type of shit.
