After dropping the box off at her apartment, Ari headed back out to explore the square. She passed a few shops that she would have liked to check out, especially since she knew she could have anything she wanted without needing to pay for any of it, but she felt guilty just walking in and taking what she wanted. She was going to have to talk to Alexander about getting a paying job so she could earn what she got, the same as everyone else.

Vampire City really was a beautiful place when you overlooked the guards, fences, and the idea that humans were being held in a warehouse to have their fates decided upon by blood sucking vampires. Okay, so the premise was faulty, but the community itself wasn't bad to look at. Before she realized it, Ari had explored the inner ring of the city and along some of the side streets, even though she wasn't supposed to.

On the far end of the square, there was a park, complete with tall trees, benches, and picnickers enjoying the beautiful day. She remembered the day before when West invited her out. She'd told him yes, but never intended to follow through. She never figured Alexander would let her out of his sight long enough for it to become a reality. She hadn't even thought to get his number, though thinking about it, he probably didn't even have a phone.

She found an empty bench to stop for a break and let her mind wander and take in the humans and vampires in the park. It was the one place in Vampire City that everything seemed normal, as crazy as that was.

Ari let her eyes close and leaned her head back to enjoy the sun. Whispers of thoughts floated around, both human and vampire and the more she relaxed, the easier it got to pick up on their emotions as well. Her fellow park goers weren't as relaxed on the inside as they appeared, so she tried to ignore the noise and focus on the beautiful day.

She felt West come up behind her, before he put his hands over her eyes and whispered "Guess who?" His thoughts were shrouded in a mist that she couldn't get a read on once again.

"Hmm, that's a tough one." She wiggled out from under his hands and turned to look at him. Messy blond curls framed his face and called attention to his devilish smile.

"How are you today, beautiful?" He hopped over the bench with grace and sat next to her. He had a messenger bag slung across his body and a camera in one hand.

"Very well. How about you?" She glanced down at the camera and fought the urge to touch it. It had been a long time since she'd seen one, and never one that looked like his.

He followed her eyes and held the camera out to her. "You wanna try it?"

She shook her head. "I don't even know how, but thanks."

His smiled widened and he held back a laugh.
