Practice Five

The Boost of Mother Earth

This will only come with the Mother Earth’s permission and cooperation. Here is how you begin. Go to a sacred place where the Mother Earth energy is very powerful and holistic. First ask permission to be there and then make an offering on the bare ground of pure water, milk, honey, seeds, and flowers. Ignite some coals and offer copal in a clay urn. Arrange everything like a mandala—a sacred circle on the ground—and place the burning copal in the center. Pour your heart out in prayer and express every meaningful intent that you have in your life. See the mandala offering like a portal through which you may speak to all the energies of the Earth while the copal billows. Thank all the energies of creation for your life and for your awareness and call them to listen.

Ask for guidance regarding what you need to do, what the tasks are that must be accomplished. Ask for revelations regarding debts that are owed by you which have to be repaid somehow in order to have the permission to live happily and freely, without illness, strife, and destruction. Request instructions on how to repay those debts.

Confess yourself and all of your failings and lack of awareness. Tell the Mother Earth exactly how you have felt in your life and how you wish to feel.

Ask for a good passing through life and death, for a good life itself, for love in your heart, and for the possibility to find a good place at death. Ask for her help, guidance, and protection regarding your gradual transcendent illumination and liberation. Request that clear seeing be empowered by the overflowing love that she blesses you with in your heart.

Go and meditate. Find a tranquil place and sit and meditate for a time in silence. Now lie down with your head facing the east and Dream. Request for her voice and guidance to come to you in Dreaming and in the signs of nature. When you rise, regardless of what you have or have not yet received, express your gratitude. Have faith in and thankfulness for what you did receive and experience, and do not be envious of what you did not. Have confidence, even if what you received is currently imperceptible to you.

Before you depart the place, distribute the mandala offerings that have not been absorbed into the earth to the four directions. Request that the messages from the Mother Earth not abandon you and that they continue to come to you in Dreaming and be empowered and proven true in your waking world. Offer to return to that place, or to go to another sacred place with permission, and to continue to make offerings to keep the lines of communication open.

Understand that if she makes promises to you, and reveals wisdom to you, you are energetically and honor bound, and must do everything that she asks of you or you will never be free. Also understand that she will
