When did you first become curious about design?

I always loved drawing as a child, and was particularly fond of Walt Disney and Saul Steinberg. I went to a German-language elementary school, a science- and math-oriented high school, and received my degree in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic. But my interest in design really began when I was the editor in chief of the magazine Casabella in 1973. It was around the time we founded the Global Tools collective as a school for crafts. It was when I designed the oggetti ad uso spirituale (objects for spiritual use) that were made for the covers of Casabella.
