Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the Lord.

Therefore thus saith the Lord God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the Lord.

Jeremiah 23:1-2

Obviously, pastors in the Old Testament were not feeding their sheep the right food, which caused the sheep to cease fellowship with other saints, and still the pastors did not care about them. But pastors were not the only ones who were not rightly dividing the Word of God. Many prophets were also prophesying the word of the Lord falsely, speaking from their own hearts instead of speaking God’s heart and mind. Their false prophecies were causing the people to walk in error instead of the truth of God’s Word.
