“Savio’s fighting!” I roll over, grabbing my alarm clock. Five o’clock! I rub my eyes to make sure I’m seeing right. I slept the whole day away.

My alarm was supposed to go off at noon so I could go into my new office for the first time. Disappointment wraps itself around me. Shit!

I jump out of bed and make my way out of the dark room. All the girls are up, dressed, and looking like they’re about to leave.

“Looks like the princess is alive.” Tanya’s words are cold as she casts her eyes up and down my body before she sticks her nose in the air and turns her back to me.

“Where are you girls going?”

“Savio is having an impromptu fight. We’re headed to watch.”

“By that, we mean we’re looking for some fresh talent to join our ranks. Last I heard, one of us is on the way out because of theft,” Shelby replies, smirking at Tanya.

“Give me five minutes and I can be ready.” I remember hearing about Savio’s fights back in the day. I imagine he’s only become more ruthless.

“We don’t have time. The limo is here. Sorry,” Robin answers sheepishly.

Tanya chuckles and leads the other girls out of the house, leaving Robin and me alone. “I could stay and wait for you,” she offers.

I wave her off. “It’s fine, I’ll see you there.”

“Here.” She hands me a piece of paper. “It’s the address.”
