‘I think you’re right.’

‘You’re not having a senior moment, are you?’

‘Eugenics is alive and kicking.’

‘I’d already said as much.’

‘I know, but now I’ve witnessed it for myself. They were doing brain scans on dogs to weed the wheat from the chaff for a rigorous training programme.’

‘And?’

‘It’s not a study about dogs.’

‘It isn’t?’

‘No. It’s a study about humans. Imagine if they carried out brain scans on young men joining the armed forces.’

‘To identify the killers among them?’

‘Exactly.’

‘Jesus.’

‘But that’s not the end of it.’

‘It’s not?’

‘Not by a long walk off a short pier. What if they could use brain scans at an early age to identify those who were more likely to become killers, criminals, workshy, and so on?’

‘Scans to be undertaken as part of a child’s medical check-up at the GP surgery – similar to vaccinations?’

‘Or even earlier. What if they could identify society’s undesirables in the womb?’

‘Do you realise what you’re saying?’

‘I know exactly what I’m saying. Eugenics is operating in plain sight, but pretending to be something else.’
