Naren and CBK started testing their terms and conditions and found their first defect on their features available to navigate to each page and sections:
Picture: Page break from ebook part of Google Play free sample.
There was no feature made available to look at the contents of the eBook and the user has to go to each page to understand what content has been provided where as the printed copy of the book has âTable of contents,â which is missing in the digital version.
Naren includes tests related to page-break-before, page-break-after, and page-break-inside to verify when PDF versions and ebooks need testing part of websites.3
Both CBK and Naren had a discussion with Mark to understand what options they are left with to improve the page break experience and Mark explained some tricks around html properties.
Updating page list navigation with <nav role=âebook-pagelistâ> would help announcing it through screen reader and, similarly, designations can be marked with a span property as <span id=âpage1â> and both these two types of updates would help improve page break experience4.
Now Naren went back to update his test cases and Mark worked toward the page break feature improvements for better accessibility experience.
We learnt about techniques involved in testing paged media in this chapter and it is important to understand what tests to undertake when websites are developed as âsingle page applicationsâ in the next chapter.
