How to remineralize your soil

Remineralization is best performed in the winter since many of the amendments can burn growing plants.

Once you figure out exactly why and what you want to apply to your soil, the actual act of remineralization is very similar to applying lime to sweeten your pH. In fact, if you have any intention of liming your ground, it's best to do so first and give the amendment time to work before going back in to balance macronutrients and top up micronutrients several months later. Remember, adding those bullying calcium cations can push everyone else off the musical chairs that make up your cation exchange capacity. So you're throwing money away if you add other amendments one year then lime the next rather than vice versa.
