Fiona opened her eyes. She felt immediately disoriented. She was aware that the bed she was sleeping in was not her own. She then turned as she heard gentle breathing. A warm, pleasant feeling spread over her as she recognised Carl’s body beside her. He looked somehow more boyish and carefree in his sleep. Slowly, she moved closer to him, not wanting to wake him as she observed him further.

All of a sudden, she froze as Carl’s blue eyes looked at her in surprise just before she had a chance to reach out and touch him. Fiona wasn’t sure what to do next as their eyes remained fixed upon each other; she did not have a clue of what to say.

She felt immediately reassured when Carl smiled warmly at her before pulling her down toward him with his steady hands to kiss her tenderly on the lips. A kiss that ended in them making mad, sweet love once again, but this time around, they were more slow and tender with each other, the initial urgency having left them as they both took time to explore the other. To smell, touch and taste as they savoured the carnal delights of their bodies joining together again and again, until it all became too much for both of them to bear. They finally gave into the passions that overwhelmed them.

As Fiona lay in Carl’s arms, she could not help but smile. Instinctively, she knew for the first time that she had somehow managed to get through to Carl. He had shown her his true self like she had always hoped for from the very first time she had met him. She just knew that this would be the turning point in their relationship. Fiona ran her hand across his hard, muscled chest with joy; she was rewarded with a kiss on her forehead before she closed her eyes and fell sound asleep, feeling safe and protected in his arms.
