It was a mushroom type thing called a fungi, it is only one cell thick and covers a part of the earth some thousand of acres across. She is the library and central data source for all life on earth. It was there Celine was sure they would find the answers of what to do. The Baby Spores’ mind was still too young to tell her directly where it was going. So, instead Celine had to call out to Alice to follow her sound until they were generally going in the direction of a forest. Alice would then be able to take over and Celine would try and get onto Alice’s shoulder after that.

Inspiring Alice to action, the two of them took off; Alice on her pushbike and Celine on the baby spore. Celine yelled out directions whenever she floated away from Alice. This posed some problems as the spore did not follow a road so it took sometime to co-ordinate the travel.

Flying high on an air current, protected in her bubble of worm casting and special travel soils, Celine felt warm and cosy able to sleep as if for a thousand years. It was an adventure she would never have dreamed of before hearing the girl sing. She remembered the singing and how much it had excited her. Now she knew that she must remain very still if the spore was to travel swiftly to the fungi centre. Celine also knew that time was vital.

Arriving late in the afternoon, the spore gently landed on the forest floor in a hush of reverence for the Mother knowledge.

The earthy feeling of Gaia was strong here.

Alice, however, was confused and doubtful wondering if she were still dreaming or if this was really happening but the ride had been just a short distance it was just the constant directions that had taken the time. Still it was sure making the holidays seem like an adventure. Wait until she told her friends at school… nah! They would never believe her anyway. Then again, her little brother would be beside himself. Oh NO! that would be the end… No, there was nothing for it, but for it to be her secret.

It certainly was nice here in the cool of the forest, the little voice had led her deep into the local woods she rarely went, as they were off limits to the kids and she was very nervous about being here at all.
