2.4 DRIBBLING

2.4.1 Individual dribbling

Execution

Each player dribbles on the field and performs the following types of dribbling as specified by the coach:

Basic dribble with the right foot; basic dribble with the left foot.

Caress the ball sideways with the sole of the right foot; caress the ball sideways with the sole of the left foot.

Caress the ball forward with the sole of the right foot/forward left foot/backward right/backward left.

Caress the ball forward with the sole, alternating feet/backward alternating feet.

Caress the ball, using the sole and alternating feet.

Pendulum motion forward with of inside foot; pendulum motion backward with inside of foot.

Pendulum motion forward with inside of foot and alternate clapping hands in front and behind the back.

Pendulum motion backward with inside of foot and alternate clapping hands in front and behind the back.

Alternate outside foot and inside foot with right foot (one touch each).

Alternate outside foot and inside foot with left foot (one touch each).

Alternate outside foot and inside foot with right foot (two touches each).

Alternate outside foot and inside foot with left foot (two touches each).

Outside/inside foot right; outside/inside foot left.

Alternate caressing the ball with the sole right and then left with the inside foot; alternate caressing the ball with the sole left and then right with the inside foot.

Variations

Add neutral players (e.g., goalkeepers) as a passing option for all players.

A single player imitates the group: Perform a dribbling variation or feint.

Organize as a competition: Which player is the first to reach the sideline?

(Groups of two are numbered: Call a pair of players → start in 1-on-1-contest).
