THE SUCCESS OF FIFA International Soccerâs isometric viewpoint led EA to decide to implement it for its basketball series too. NBA Live 95, the first game in the NBA Live series, was the first to use a modified version of the FIFA engine, giving players a better view of the court. It also added some new gameplay features that would become standards for the NBA Live series going forwards, including the addition of a speed boost to give your player a little extra zip when he needs it. Although the SNES version played similarly to the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis one, it did have one notable disadvantage: whereas the Mega Drive rosters were based on the 1994â95 rosters, the SNES version used the older 1993â94 rosters instead. â
FACT
Charles Barkley doesnât appear in NBA Live 95 for licensing reasons. More recently, heâs refused to allow his likeness to be used in the NBA 2K games, because 2K Sports wonât pay money to retired players from historic squads.
