Widow spends the next couple of hours riding in taxis, asking drivers about the Fenian Boys, and getting a lot of silence. No one, it seems, wants to talk about them. Next, he tries asking them directly for the website where the Fenian Boys list their most desired cars. Still, no one is talking. He tries offering money for information, but it doesn’t work. One friendly driver, who swears he doesn’t partake in the scheme, informs Widow the reason no one will take his money isn’t because they’re loyal to the Fenian Boys or anything like that. They won’t take his money because the Fenian Boys pay for the information about car locations, but they also pay for silence.

So, Widow tries a new tactic. He rides in more cabs, around the city center, hoping to spot one of those skull decals, or a car that might be of interest. He figures that if he’s lucky enough to spot some kind of rare, expensive car, maybe he can keep getting rides around it, and see if a taxi driver texts the Fenian Boys’ phone number to report the car.

Widow gets luckier than he expects, because the very next taxi he takes stops at a busy intersection, and he sees a black Aston Martin parked in a department store lot, far away from the other cars, like the owner didn’t want anyone to park near it. He doesn’t recognize the car, but he knows the name. It’s the James Bond car, only not the original model. This car’s great-great-granddad is the Bond car.

But he’s not the only one who takes note of it. The taxi driver does too. He sends a text while they wait at the light. Widow watches. The texting itself isn’t indicative of him contacting the Fenian Boys on its own. But when the driver snaps a photo of the car, immediately texts it to the same number, and then gets fast responses, Widow knows it’s them.

There’s the driver’s initial text, then a response, another text, and response. And so it goes, until the driver sets his phone down and smiles at Widow in the rearview mirror.

Widow smiles back, and asks, “You happy about something?”

The driver says, “Yes, my friend. It’s a good day. I just get a bonus.”

“I see.”

The light turns green, and the driver moves forward. Widow points to another section of the department store’s parking lot, and says, “Drop me off right there.”

The taxi driver nods and pulls over. Widow gets out, pays the fare, and goes back to the Aston Martin and waits.
