Don’t get stuck in the
“paralysis of analysis!”
Do your research and pick a niche.
ANY niche.
In the next chapter I’m going to reveal a few good tools I’ve discovered to help you do your research and start narrowing down which markets you may want to go after.
Chapter 7
My Secret Tools For Finding “Starving Markets”
Ready And Willing To Spend Lots Of Money With You!
If you want to make a lot of money with your copywriting skills... either as a freelancer working with clients or as a “kitchen table” entrepreneur... I’m about to give you “the keys to the kingdom.”
Selecting the right market is the most important aspect in succeeding in this crazy direct response/online marketing business.
And to be absolutely sure you’ve selected a hungry market with money to spend, doing proper market research is absolutely critical.
So I’d like to share with you the tolls I use to do just that.
The first one we’ll talk about is the Google AdWords keywords tool. When you open a Google Adwords account (which is free, by the way) you’ll get access to this tool.
It’s kinda cool. You can do stuff like punch in the keywords “mini donkeys” and see how many people are searching for information about mini donkeys.
A brief little side note: I have a gut feeling mini donkeys might be a really responsive little niche.
Here’s why I think that:
A few years ago I rented a house on a farm, and the woman who owned the farm had these mini donkeys running all over the place. Although they were kinda cool... and actually pretty affectionate like a dog... Donner, my Doberman HATED them. He always tried to herd them all together into one of the fenced in areas. It was cheap entertainment while I sat on the porch writing issues of the the Doberman Dan Letter.
This owner of the farm was really passionate about these mini donkeys and would talk about them for hours. Even back then I thought...
“Hmm, she’s pretty enthusiastic about mini donkeys. I bet there are a few thousand other hyper-responsive mini donkey people out there I could sell information products to about mini donkeys.”
So there ya go...
I may have just given you a “base hit”... or even possibly a “home run” KTB idea.
When you’re making the big bucks with your mini donkey products, feel free to send your pal, Doberman Dan, a generous royalty check. (I won’t hold my breath.)
But I digest...
So you can use the Google AdWords keyword tool to see how many people are searching for your keywords every month. That’s kinda helpful, I guess.
But...
