The job of window dressing appealed to Frank. Once, for a hardware store window, he created an amusing dummy made completely of metal parts—a funnel for a hat, a pan for a face, stovepipes for arms and legs, a washtub for a body. Arranging windows was about using imagination to display humdrum items, like shoes, behind shiny plates of glass. It was almost a way to create a miniature White City.

So he wrote a book, The Art of Decorating Dry Goods Windows and Interiors.
