THE POLITICS
One large domain of nonviolent action is the realm of the political. A public sphere, in order to be truly equal, requires it to be a nonviolent space. Gandhi’s endeavor was to help foster such spaces, create and nurture public discourse wherein nonviolence was not only nonnegotiable but an article of faith. Gandhi as a leader of mass movements saw it as a duty to explicate the relationship of the political with other domains of collective life.
