“Three great tribal rivers

run across the Earth

(they are) the Kin-Seeker´s maidens[fates]; They are hide-walkers/fortune-bringers who dwell in the world

although they were raised among Devourers.”77

49.Vafþrvðnir qvaþ:

„Þriar þioðár

falla þorp yfir

meyia Mꜹgþrasiss;

hamingior einar

þęr er i heimi ero,

þo þęr meþ iotnom alaz.“

50. Óðinn said:

“Much have I travelled, much have I tried much have I tested the powers;

Who among the Aesir

will rule the realms of the gods

when the fires of the Sooted One are quenched?”

50. Oþinn qvaþ:

„Fiolþ ec for,

fiolþ ec freistaþac,

fiolþ ec vm reynda regin: Hverir raþa ęsir

eignom goða,

þa er slocnar Svrta logi?“

“Expanding Warrior and the Choice

shall build the divine sanctuaries

when the fires of the Sooted One are quenched Power and Greatness

shall own the Grinder [Thor´s hammer] when Weapon-Quaker´s strifeis over.”78

What shall end the life of Spirit

when the powers are torn asunder?”

52. Oþinn qvaþ:

„Fiolþ ec for,

fiolþ ec vm reynda regin: hvat verþr Oðni at aldrlagi, þa er vm rivfaz regin?“
