She was crouching behind a pile of weapons which must have been removed from the defeated crew of the Rapier. There was an assortment of cutlasses, swords, knives, clubs and even a wooden catapult.

‘Ahoy there, Miss Beancat!’

Beancat looked down to see little Blue sitting in the shadow of a cutlass handle. She must have been there the whole time, but with all the sea air and gunpowder and rum and dirty, sweaty sailors about, Beancat hadn’t picked up the little rat’s scent.
