Puranic Myth – The Curse of Indra

Indra was cursed by the Guru Gautama for having an affair with his wife Ahilya, and his body pasted with 1000 vaginas. Indra, the King of Gods overstepped his mark and therefore had to do tapas (penance) for 1000 years before this curse could be modified into a thousand eyes. Indra did this tapasya at Suchindram Temple, in Tamil Nadu. The belief is that he still comes there every night to do Ardhajama puja. Ardhajama is the night-time prayer ceremony.

Jyeshta people feel very powerful; they think they can control themselves and that different rules apply to them. This arrogance makes them generate their own bad luck, their own demons and it can create baggage throughout their life until they make amends and turn towards a more spiritual journey. Sexual issues can be one of the challenges.
