Dress Appropriately
Dress for a career fair like you would dress for an in-office interview with an employer. As you will soon read, the very first thing a company representative will notice and evaluate is your appearance—how you are dressed. First impressions are vitally important and when you are conservatively dressed in business attire you are sending the message that you are ready for employment in the real world. Generally speaking, conservative dress for guys is a dark suit or a blue sports jacket over nice slacks, a starched shirt, tie, and hard-soled dark shoes. For the ladies, a business suit in a solid colors or mild patterns, leather high-heeled shoes (not the ones that are sky-high or when you go to the bars), and a stylish blouse would be appropriate. Do not take your purse.
Although styles change, you should get the idea of the image you want to project from this wardrobe description. If you are pursuing a career in the creative fields (marketing, advertising, and so on), you have more latitude on your wardrobe selections.
