Meet The Tickleschwings

The elevator stopped, and the blue digital number above its opening door indicated that Robert had reached level -19. He wondered just how far underground he actually was. There were probably coal mines that didn’t go this deep into the earth surface, he thought.

He stepped out into the stark white corridor, and it felt very different to level 162, from where had just arrived. Down below it felt colder and surprisingly noisy. He could hear people walk around the concrete floors – level -19 did not boast the plush thick carpets of level 162 – and could also hear the throbbing hums coming from the air conditioning units and long fluorescent light strips that hung from the grey concrete ceilings. Robert had watched many movies and thought that level -19 looked like an air raid bunker or underground tomb. He made his way along the corridor that was lined with doors on either side and read the nameplates on each of the tired chalky white office doors. He was impressed and intrigued by some of the job titles that he read below each nameplate. He smiled and giggled as he quietly whispered what he read on one door:
