Suddenly Fili got a fright! All at once she heard a noise which she had never heard before. A school bus turned into the village square at a great speed and honked its horn. Fili was standing in the very spot where the school bus usually stopped to drop off the children. The young giraffe had no idea what a school bus was of course, and what this honking, clattering piece of metal wanted from her. Frightened by it, she turned and ran.

In her panic though, she forgot to put one foot carefully in front of the other so not to fall over her uneven legs. Straight away, with all her weight, Fili bumped into the wall of a house, bringing all the tiles crashing down from the roof. The owner of the house was very angry at Fili’s antics and shouted loudly. “What are you doing to my house? You painted giraffe with your strange legs. Go away if you know what’s good for you!”

Fili stood up and kept on running. But her legs spoiled that plan and again she stumbled and damaged another wall of a house. More and more people began to appear to try and chase the young trespasser out of the village. They were worried about their houses.
