THE EARLY CLUB SCENE
At the end of the nineteenth century, people formed clubs around just about anything. There were clubs devoted to collecting butterflies, examining dinosaur fossils, and studying electricity. When Gottlieb Daimler first bolted a gasoline engine to his two-wheeled Einspur and created the original motorcycle in 1885, it was inevitable that people would form clubs based around this new invention.
