Leg Cramp Relief Formula
Leg cramps can be extremely painful and occur suddenly without notice as a usually voluntary leg muscle or muscle group suddenly goes into an excessive involuntarily contraction, causing extreme shortening of the leg muscle tissue. A leg cramp can last for several seconds, minutes or even hours. Though the associated cause is not completely understood, cramping of a skeletal muscle, such as leg cramps, may be from excessive exercise, dehydration, low levels of minerals (magnesium, potassium, calcium and sodium) or poor circulation.
It’s reported that, “around 40% of people who experience skeletal cramps are likely to endure extreme muscle pain, and may be unable to use the entire limb that contains the ‘locked-up’ muscle group. It may take up to seven days for the muscle to return to a pain-free state.”
Leg cramps may occur anytime, however a large number of them are nocturnal, which means they happen at night, disrupting your normal sleep.
To a 5-ml, colored-glass, euro-dropper bottle add:
Sweet Marjoram: 40 drops
Peppermint: 20 drops
Cypress: 20 drops
Lavender: 10 drops
Helichrysum: 10 drops
Close the cap tightly and shake the bottle vigorously to thoroughly blend the essential oils. Allow to synergize for 8 or more hours before using.
If you’re using a 10-percent dilution of any of the pure essential oils, add them directly to your carrier oil.
Add 10–15 drops of your pure essential oil formula to a 1-ounce (30-ml), colored-glass misting bottle filled with light coconut oil. Light coconut oil is light enough that it will not clog the atomizer sprayer. Shake the bottle vigorously to disperse the formula in the carrier oil before using.
To make a ready-to-use oil, simply add 10–15 drops of your formula to a plastic dispensing bottle filled with your chosen carrier oil. Shake well to disperse the oils in the carrier before applying gently to the area of leg cramping. Clients report that applying the Leg Cramp Relief Formula after taking a warm shower or bath and just before bed helps them sleep more deeply and prevents nocturnal leg cramps.
