I HEARD THE SONG BEFORE I woke. Some pop song from the 60s. Something about a bird being caught in a net. And there was a pungent aroma like chemical imitation of an ocean breeze. I was lying supine, that much I was sure of. When I opened my eyes I felt a sharp pain in my cranium. I wanted to rub my eyes and my temples but my arms were constricted. And then I recalled where I was, and seemed to remember where I had left off. I jerked my head down, embedding my chin in my clavicle: I was stark naked and caked in a gelatin lubricant from head to toe. My penis was glistening, standing upright fully erect. Oh my God . . . he dosed me! I wrenched the handcuffs chaining my wrists to the headboard, tried kicking my feet which were manacled to the bedposts. I choked on short, panicky breaths and writhed helplessly on that filthy, bare mattress.
