Faces freeze when you walk through,

hearts beat, stop, halt,

strive.

Breath catches,

love falters.

You trail fear like tattered feathers.

We hate you,

your scratching fingers,

your strangling grasp.

We make you angry—

you don’t know why we laugh

or even why we flee.

Murderer.

You torture love out of us.

Never enough—you may ever plead,

then choke the moment—

we suffocate, we bleed.

No matter—we still live!

And scurry ’round the corners

to savour love.

We are one - you are alone.

You say you are the power,

The One who has the say,

we are supposed to tremble,

we wish you’d go away.

we don’t want to do that,

we don’t want to be your prey,

we don’t want you with us,

You are love gone far astray.
