The candidate will then get up, shake my hand, and walk out the door. It was a pleasant enough interaction, yes, but there was no close. The candidate leaves the interview without summing up for me the qualifications, experience, and other intangibles he or she will bring to the job, and they have no clue how I think they did, whether they will get a callback for another interview, or what the expected time frame is to hear back from me about this job.
