Hall and Charlotte had just finished their visit to the fourth address on their list. And just like the previous three, they came up empty again. Unlike Shots, nobody at these establishments even admitted knowing—or recognizing—Reddington.

“Struck out again,” Hall said.

They were leaning up against the hood of their car, still in the parking lot of the last bar they’d visited.

“You know what gets me?” Charlotte said. “How does a guy visit these places every week… and nobody knows who he is? How does that happen?”

Hall shrugged. “Maybe he’s got a forgettable face.”

“Or maybe they don’t want to know him.”

“Well, nothing we can do about that. We can’t make people remember. We just have to figure out where we go from here.”

Charlotte sighed. “Which is?”

Hall rubbed his lips. “Bradham’s right. Somebody’s gotta know something. Regardless of the surveillance video, which might not even turn up anything, there’s gotta be someone else who knows him. There’s just gotta be. Even if we find out who the woman is that Reddington was talking to, she might not have gone anywhere with him. And there might not even be a beach house.”

“But isn’t that what we’re working for right now? Assuming that there is a beach house?”

Hall put his hands on his head. “I don’t know. This guy might not even be here anymore.”

“Let’s think. Who would know Reddington better than anyone?”

Hall threw his arms up. “Beats me. Doesn’t really have any close friends that we know of, right? No girlfriends.”

“So who does that leave?”

“His parents?”

“Seems as good a bet as any,” Charlotte said.

“Didn’t the police already talk to them, though?”

“Brandon, do you really think they’re going to tell the police everything they know, knowing full well that they’re looking for their son and possibly putting him in jail?”

“So what makes you think they’ll talk to us? Aren’t we trying to do the same thing?”

“Are we? I thought we were looking for the truth and what happened? Wherever that takes us. And we don’t have proof that Reddington did this. Just suspicions.”

“So maybe if we tell them we’re the only hope their son has right now… maybe they’ll talk to us.”

Charlotte nodded. “Worth a shot.”

They drove over to Reddington’s parents’ house. On the way, in the spirit of their newfound cooperation and sharing of information, Hall called Bradham to let him know their plans.

“Hey, just wanted to let you know we’re on the way to talk to Reddington’s parents.”

“Why?” Bradham replied. “We already talked to them. They don’t know anything.”

“We think we might have a different approach.”

“Think they know more than they’re saying?”

“I don’t know. Maybe. Maybe not. I just think it’s worth a try. I know you’ve got a car watching their place, so I just wanted to let you know in advance so you don’t get a report about us being there.”

Bradham laughed. “It’s like a whole new side of you that I’ve never seen before.”

“Yeah, well, I’m not sure how used to it you should get. But for now… I’m playing nice.
