Sunlight Charging

The following is a list of crystals that will not fade in the sun and work best with the sun-powered energy:

Obsidian: it is commonly found in its original state outdoors; it is volcanic and will not fade.

Clear quartz: because there is no pigmentation in this crystal, it does well in direct sunlight for charging, but be careful it does not ignite sparks and starts a fire.

Tourmaline: this is a fantastic grounding crystal that is safe to charge in sunlight.

Moonstone: this crystal is perfect for charging under the moon and the sun, so its feminine and masculine energies become balanced.

Charging your crystals in indirect sunlight is good for those prone to fading or becoming brittle if exposed to direct sunlight. Pick a nice shady spot in your yard, garden or windowsill that faces a sun-filled area but is not quite reachable to the sun. You can also cup your crystal and meditate outside for 15 minutes or so. If all else fails, place your crystals under a representative of the sun such as a glowing candle. Do it in a room that is dark so the candle can shine brightly.
