Tools
There are a lot of tools that will make your job easier; just remember that the tool is just a tool and that what matters is to reach your audience in a meaningful way and to get them to connect. You can find a curated and updated list at http://www.coworkinghandbook.com/tools .

Space
Even if community is more important, the space where you set up your coworking space counts a lot, but maybe not for the reasons you think. We all see pictures of beautiful work spaces created by big companies, universities and state agencies around the globe and are led to believe that what matters is the look of the space. Well, that is not what matters: location and function trump looks by a long shot.
I have visited dozens of coworking spaces around the world and all the successful ones look different, are in good and bad parts of the city, have different vibes, use different qualities of furniture and decoration, have different setups… What they all have in common is a thriving community of members and a focus on providing value to those members.
Coworkers and event organizers come to your space because it helps them professionally. You have to provide a convenient location, with good Internet, electricity, heating and air conditioning, and the furniture to be able to work and interact.
Don’t be fooled by the pictures you see of great companies creating office spaces: some have revenues of over $1 million per employee [84] , and they are using their HR and marketing budgets, not building a coworking business. Don’t feel bad because your space does not match them, you are in different business. Just check them out for inspiration [85] .
