Ginkgo alleviates anxiety, short-term memory loss, depression, inability to concentrate, and confusion when taken in the early stages. In 1997 the Journal of the American Medical Association published the results of a study in which mental attention and memory in Alzheimer’s patients was improved by taking ginkgo. Flavonoid compounds known as heterosides are thought to be the active constituents in ginkgo most likely responsible for the increased blood flow and oxygen supply to the brain. Allow four to six weeks to see results. Take 40 to 80 milligrams three times daily.

DHEA enhances memory, improves cognitive function. Take 25 to 50 milligrams for men over age fifty; 15 to 25 milligrams for women.
