It will help you devise a symbolic representation of the Lack/Yearning, or a concrete behavior that best typifies the struggle between them.
It will identify the character’s core internal problem that she will need to address in the course of the narrative. The solution or mitigation of that problem will form her Yearning Horizon for that story. (For more on this, see chapter eight).
A good place to start that process is to revisit the character’s Yearning and the forces of Resistance holding him back. That conflict will likely direct you to the core problem of his life.
