Charles: Where is proof that winning helps colleges?
The professor agrees with my point that state legislatures are cutting back their support of public universities and yet continues to defend the bloated salaries paid to football coaches. Logically this view is unsupported in that many of these universities are still on the financial losing end even after taking into consideration ticket sales. Perhaps the professor would agree it is wrong for football coaches to be paid these high salaries when the net effect would result in a financial loss to the university?
