CHAPTER NINETEEN

The purple clouds start to adorn the sky; Brandon decides we should get back to the coast. John is waiting for us as promised, then he drives us to the villa. I can agree now on why Brandon needs him present all the time. The man is attentive and patient.

I go to the kitchen like a habit, expecting to find Lydia, but the house is empty, and I don’t see her housekeepers either. I am about to turn back, but Brandon abruptly catches me by my waist—gasping in surprise when he swiftly lifts me to the counter. He presses his body between my legs, spreading me wide. He stares fondly with a half-smile.

“Um.” I clear my throat. “Where is everybody?”

“Lydia is back at the dojo resting, so it’s just you and me tonight,” he says hoarsely, and the tension between us is suddenly thick.

Brandon draws his face, making my face inclined to the side, and he starts kissing my neck softly. My eyes flutter as the sensation alone begins to invade my whole body. I can’t help but let a moan escape. I feel his hands on my back as though his fingers are walking all over my skin. Every trail is delicate and careful.

There were things about him that I wasn’t aware of. From the first time I saw him, with or without a mask, the man doesn’t seem aware of how enthralling he is. A kind of man, a woman, would instantly worship just by seeing him. A gift.

And he’s mine.

His beautiful face, body, and soul.

He’s mine. All mine.

He then touches my ear, jawline, and neck again with his skilled mouth. I feel a surge of explosive magma flow through me, then fireworks churn down to the very last of my nerve endings. He then touches my needy skin with his tongue. His breath is so light on my skin; it’s divine and, at the same time, filthy.

I wholly abandoned my rationality. Brandon’s mouth collides with mine. His hand slips into my shirt, then his grip on my waist tightens. His fingers are twisting and digging lightly on my skin as he draws me closer to him. Dizziness takes me away instantly. It’s the feeling that takes hold of me, and if I have to name everything in my head, it’s frenzy, pleasure, and desire mixed, which I only recognize with him. That’s how Brandon reminded me of everything we have.

He groans between our mouths as he opens my mouth deeper. His tongue insists and demands mine to be taken. I shudder in eagerness. A simple kiss and a few caresses like these have awakened a thousand sensations in my body that only exist with him. This is why I know he’s different. I was wrong with my convictions. There’s no point comparing my experiences with him and my past because it’s incomparable.

Brandon draws me against his body even more—bending me over the counter, his hips pressing into mine. His warmth is intoxicating, and his strong arms are overwhelming.
