Description: There are two different types of ylang-ylang essential oil: extra and complete. Ylang-ylang extra is pale yellow and has an intense floral scent that can be soft and sweet. A yellowish oily liquid, ylang-ylang complete has a sweet floral scent with a balsamic, woody base note.
Precautions: Not for use on children under two years of age and pregnant or nursing mothers. When used topically, a maximum dermal level of 0.8 percent or 7 drops per ounce (2 tablespoons) of carrier oil is recommended.
Uses: skin conditions, cosmetics, hair care products, perfumes, depression, insomnia, muscle spasms, aphrodisiac, dry and oily skin, PMS, mood swings
Applications: Ylang-ylang essential oil is used topically in cosmetics and skin care products to help soothe and treat dry skin, smooth wrinkles, and reduce scarring. When diffused, it can ease tension, lift mood, and add a little romance to the atmosphere. Add 1 drop of ylang-ylang essential oil per ounce (2 tablespoons) of avocado oil for a luxurious facial moisturizer.

Blends Well With: bergamot, black pepper, cedarwood, chamomile, clary sage, clove bud, geranium, ginger, grapefruit, lavender, lemon, lemongrass, rosalina, rose, sweet orange
Substitutes: helichrysum, jasmine, patchouli
