My head was still reeling from my evening when I got home. The twins had hopped out less than a quarter-mile away from the house, just in case my dad was around. I was paranoid about him too and barely coasted the Chevelle into the drive, not wanting the sound of the engine to wake up old Chuck. In reality, I was relieved and excited by the Callums and still a little frightened. There was a dash of disbelief, sprinkled with just a smidge of arousal, and topped off with a lot of confusion. I was still in my yoga leggings and sports bra, which was good because I didn’t have the effort to throw on pajamas. At least I’d showered before the twins abducted me. Thank every god or goddess out there that I hadn’t met their family in Luke’s clothes from middle school. I would have died from the embarrassment.

I flopped onto my bed like a dead fish and curled up into a little ball. My hands groped for purchase along my comforter’s edge, and I dragged it over my body lazily. The twinkle lights above my bed cast the room in a comforting, cozy glow, and within minutes I was fast asleep.
