Internet Address

This is the term given to nodes found on the internet. This may also be the term given to a website’s IP, and could also represent one’s email address.

Node

A node is the processing location of a network, which can also be found in a computer, printer, or in other related devices. Take note that each node has a unique address and that sometimes, it’s also called Media Access or Data Link Control Address.

Loopback Address

127.0.0.1 is known as the Loopback Address. It is considered to be a special IP number that is connected to the loopback of a machine or a server itself. Take note that no hardware is and should be associated with it.

What makes the Loopback Address essential is the fact that it allows IT Professionals to go ahead and test the software that they have used. This way, the user would not have to worry about broken hardware or corrupted drivers.
