Every Idea Has a Type

You meet a lot of types of ideas in advertising. You might even have a type. The problem is the word “idea” can masquerade as all of the types of ideas if the speaker doesn’t clarify what they intend.

The following list of idea types isn’t exhaustive but it hopes to make your workdays less exhausting. Some of these types are interchangeable, even synonymous, depending on who’s using the words. Some of these types mature or regress into other types over time.

Understanding the types matters, but so does the question, “What are we talking about here?”
