CHAPTER FOUR

The alarm rang at four in the morning, ripping me out of a very fitful sleep. I’d set it the day before, anticipating the day of hiking, but now, I just groaned without opening my eyes. It sounded distant, and I needed a second to realize I wasn’t in my own bed, but in Cameron’s. His arm lay heavy over my hip, and he was spooned to my back. Ignoring the persistent beep-beep from my alarm, I took a moment to recall what we’d done the night before.

Cameron was awake as well, but he too made no move to get up. He just pulled me closer to his chest and kissed my neck softly. “Good morning. Will this thing be silent any time soon?” He asked.

“Yeah, in a few minutes, we just have to wait.” The sound was pretty annoying, but as I turned around in Cameron’s arms, I forgot about the alarm. I just saw his face, rumpled from sleep, and his half closed eyes.

He smiled slowly at me, then said, “We should get going anyway.”

“Tell me you’re kidding?” Was he saying what I thought he was saying?

“No. As much as I’d like to stay here, we need to get up the Somma. We need pictures, and the weather is great today. We both can’t afford to miss the opportunity.”

At least he sounded like he really hated the words he just said. I knew he was right, we needed to get going, but it was hard. How long had I dreamt of exactly this? Probably since the day I met him. Now it was reality, and yet, we couldn’t do anything, except be responsible adults and get to work. I pressed closer to him, my morning wood resting against his hip.

“I hate that you’re right, but there’s probably no way around getting up the mountain today. Let’s get up there and get the pictures. We’ll continue this later.” I kissed him, just to make it absolutely clear what I meant. His response was everything I wanted and more. The kiss left me breathless and aching for more, but we really needed to get up.

“You bet.” The heated look he gave me said everything. A hot shiver ran down my back and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on him again.

“We really need to get going,” he whispered, just before he pulled me into another kiss. Cameron released my lips and gently pushed me away. “Get going now.” We finally got up, drank coffee while we packed our stuff, and were ready to go in under twenty minutes, despite the fact that we had to stop a few times and grope each other.

Just when we were ready to leave, he smiled suggestively at me, then bent to pick up his backpack, and I nearly swallowed my tongue. Damn, what an ass.

I followed him out of the trailer, my gaze glued to his backside. Yeah, I wanted him so badly again my cock still throbbed slightly in my pants.
