‘Guessing it’s not your distress call, then?’ a voice whispered. Zoe’s head snapped around as a figure crept out from the shadows behind her.

It was a woman – one of the burglars. She’d forgotten all about them. Not that this one seemed especially dressed for a robbery, mind. She was in some sort of casual trouser suit, with a heavy black coat wrapped tightly all around her. She had a scarf and a bobble hat too, different from the rest of the outfit, and Zoe could just about make out a wave of blonde-brown hair straying from the collar.
