Czech Republic is a world leader in organizing of Olympic parks (Sochi 2014 – Praha Letná, Rio de Janeiro 2016 – Lipno nad Vltavou, Ostrava, Plzeň, Pardubice) with a subsequent appraisal of the Czech Olympic Committee by the International Olympic Committee. This year, three similar parks will be built in other countries, namely in Netherlands, Finland and Israel. Organizers expected a total attendance of 200,000 visitors in the Czech Republic, only. The average attendance was estimated at 15,000 people per day, more on weekends and less during weekdays. During summer months of 2016, the South Bohemian Region made provisions for strengthening train and bus services from the České Budějovice to Lipno nad Vltavou and Černá v Pošumaví.
Lipno region possesses appropriate location and implementation of prerequisites and potential solutions for socio-economic disparities, by tourism development. It was important to distribute tourism activities in the whole of Lipno area and to alleviate the high intensity of tourism especially in Lipno nad Vltavou municipality. The most important factors for mitigating regions' disparities were considered the tax revenue and job creation. In order to tackle disparities, the endogenous factors (human factors, local actors, innovation) and the exogenous factors (subsidies, grants, fiscal relief posts) could have been applied. Economic and social effects of tourism on Lipno region demonstrated themselves due to coordination of activities through a strategic document with measurable indicators, where the fulfillment of these indicators would be the responsibility of destination management organizations.
