t was getting deep into the late hours of the evening, and the speakeasy was moving and shaking. The band had to be reminded to keep it down multiple times. They couldn't have any accidents with being overheard. The drinks were flowing, and the overall air about the place was lighthearted. People were glad to be able to relax and drink whatever troubles they had away. Vinny was helping out the bartender, running drinks to tables when the backdoor opened. He looked up, expecting Paddy to be back from St. Catharine's only to find a familiar man in a finely made suit almost glaring at him. "Bernardo," he greeted darkly.

"Hello, Vincent," his uncle replied simply, gazing around the bar with disdain before looking at his nephew directly. "We need to have a little chat, preferably somewhere more private," he told him quietly, not wanting the lower echelons of fae or worse humans to overhear a conversation regarding their family matters.

"Then it was a real winning idea to come during our busy hours, wasn't it?" Vinny countered, trying not to sound as livid as he felt.

Bernardo grumbled at his nephew's tone. "This isn't something that could wait. Nor could it be handled via other means of communication," he replied matter-of-factly.

Vinny strode around the bar, gesturing for Tony to follow him, and expecting that Bernardo would even if he didn't want the pushy duke to do so. He walked through his office to the kitchens, and out into the dining space, finding Helen cleaning up. "Alright, doll face. Tony will walk you home early tonight. I've got some business with my uncle."

Helen paused mid-task, and looked between the two men, seeing the resemblance there. She nodded. Seeing the urgency on Vinny's face, she left the cleaning supplies right where she left them, and untied her waist apron, tossing it onto the table with a huff. It was annoying to be interrupted in the middle of her work, but she grabbed her things anyway. "Fair enough. See ya tomorrow, boss." She waved, waiting for Tony to walk her out of the restaurant and towards her home.

When his consigliere was long gone with the pretty blonde, Vinny locked the front door, and sat down at one of the small cafe tables. "How can I help you? What was so important that it had to interrupt business?"

Bernardo glared at Vinny, taking a long breath before he felt ready to properly speak to his nephew. "What in the Hells are you trying to pull with Carlo?" he asked seriously, pacing back and forth throughout the dining room as he rubbed the stubble on his chin.

Vinny took a deep breath. He had hoped Carl was more trustworthy. If he could've just kept his big mouth shut for a few weeks, this would've been much simpler. Bernardo could be persuasive, especially if he had leverage over somebody. He had little doubt that his cousin was inept enough to let their uncle have power over him.
