Narrative: The official air force investigation began in 1954 and originated from the Eleventh OSI District at Tinker Air Force Base outside of Oklahoma City. According to the files, a postal employee said that after lunch sometime during the summer of 1953, he had still been near the restaurant where he’d had his meal when he spotted an object glinting in the sun. He had his camera with him and took a single photograph.

The witness said that he believed the object was traveling at about three to five hundred miles an hour and that it was about six or seven thousand feet above the ground. He thought it was seventy-five to eighty feet in diameter, was traveling in a southerly direction, and that it made no noise as it moved. He said that he had it in sight for about three seconds.
