Let us join our hands and hearts together and raise our voices as one in a Prayer for the Powerless:

We pray for our sisters in Africa and elsewhere who are being raped and brutalized by war.

We pray for our children here and abroad who are being born with AIDS with no chance for a meaningful life.

We pray for our elderly, those who held us and cared for us when we were young, and who now lie lost and confused from Alzheimer’s and other illnesses.

We pray for our animal friends, our little brothers and sisters, who are being raised on factory farms and used in medical experiments in the name of science.

We pray for all life forms that have lost their homes in the rain forests of the world.

We pray for all living things in our air, seas, lakes and rivers that have lost their lives to human contact.

We pray for all members of our world family who have been marginalized by prejudice of any kind and thus have been denied a full life.

We, who have been given so much, join our hands and hearts together and raise our voices as one to tell those who are suffering that they are not alone, and to ask those in power, or those who seek power, to use it not for personal gain, but for the good of all life on earth.

Peace. Peace. May there be Peace everywhere.
