I slept in one of Lindsey's guest beds. It just didn't feel right sleeping where she slept, especially after what I did to Gray last night.

His tongue slipped in my mouth and I felt a heat swirling in my belly and I had to get out of there before I did something bad. Lindsey would have approved of me hooking up with a complete stranger, even if Gray was a complete stranger, but my brain said, 'No, ma'am, not yet. Not here. Not right now.' So I bolted.

I wasn't even home when I got Gray's text message. He's such a nice guy. He's willing to pretend everything didn't happen and go on with our business relationship the way we imagined it from the start. Except I can't trust myself to agree to that based on my own intuition. So I call up the person who will know best.

"Are you dying?" Comes the croaking voice of my twin brother, James.

"I think so."

I can hear him shoot up in bed. "Oh, my God. Is it serious?"

I'm not sure if he'll understand, but he's the person I'm closest to. Some days, anyway. "It's life or death, sweetie."

He clears his throat and then I hear a hand cover the receiver. There's some mumbling on the other end of the phone and then a door slams. Was someone in bed with him? "Okay, lay it on me. What's up?"

"I met someone last night. Actually, he's going to be renovating Aunt Lindsey's house. We had some drinks, he took me to a beachside bar, we danced, and we kissed."

James makes some sounds of approval as I give him the bare minimum of details, then he pauses to think them through. "Okay," he hmms, and then rapid-fire shoots a line of questioning at me. "What does he look like? How did renovations turn into drinks? Why did it stop at kissing? What do you want from me?"

"Tall, probably 6'0"? Give or take an inch or two. Well-kept scruff. Brunette, tan, great body. Invited me to get drinks and see Coral Bay the way Lindsey saw it; hot, sweaty, and the kind of place you never want to leave. I don't know why I stopped it, my brain just said don't go any further right now." I pause because this is the part where it gets a little tricky. "And honestly? I'm not sure what I want from you. I just need someone to talk to."

Samantha would want me to tell her the entire story in excruciating detail. Richard likely wouldn't have any advice; he found his wife by accident and though they're perfect for one another, I doubt he could make the same magic happen twice.

James makes a few more sounds of understanding as he mulls over what I've told him, which isn't much, but it's enough for him to come to a conclusion. "Alright. So frankly, if you're attracted to him, I say go ahead and see where it goes. If that's sex, so be it. If it's drinking every night until the renovation is done, that's perfectly fine, too.
