CHAPTER FOURTEEN

SEBASTIAN WOKE up with a start. It was dark and he was in a strange room, surrounded by a ridiculous amount of pillows. A weird pillow braid—no, wait, tassel—was tickling his nose.

He pushed the offensive ornament away and raised his head. A large, leering pumpkin stared down at him. Its glow illuminated the room and recognition dawned.

Cabin. Devil monkey. Lily.

He calmed down. He was in the cabin. He'd gone to bed with Lily.

His breathing slowed. He hadn't really ran through the streets of L.A. with a pack of paparazzi hot on his heels. It had been just a dream.

Instead he'd been sleeping with Lily in his new bedroom, which, come to think of it, wasn't unattractive. The knotty pine paneling had not been painted, which he appreciated. Cabins should have wood paneling. He also had real furniture, which was a good change. He also had a lot of stupid pillows, which were actually quite comfortable, but they still had to go.

The monstrously large bed with the flowery carvings, however, could stay. He considered the bungee cords still hanging on the bedpost. Yep, ridiculous antique French beds definitely had their uses. In fact, he could think of a couple of things he'd like to do on this bed right now.

Unfortunately, his companion in mischief was now conspicuously absent. Where was Lily? And what was that smell? Was she cooking?

He got up, opened the closet and grabbed a robe that was hanging from a hook. He pulled it on and tied the belt around his waist, still feeling a bit shaken up. How silly to be so affected by a stupid dream. After all, he was used to dealing with the paps. It must be the stress of waiting for Ariel's picture to hit the tabloids. He needed to find Lily. Her laughter would make him forget the dream.

The snow was still falling hard. At this rate, it would take days to get out of this cabin. Good, a couple of days snowed in with sweet, sexy Lily Holroyd was just what he needed.

His stomach growled. What the hell was that smell?

He walked to the kitchen where Lily was taking the pan of brownies out of the oven. She'd rebuilt the fire and the cabin was warm and cozy, which explained why she was dressed only in a pair of very familiar shorts and a white undershirt. He paused to rearrange his robe, as the sight of her in his clothes derailed his blood flow into interesting places.

The cause of his discomfort put the pan of brownies on the counter and turned to him.

"They didn't burn," she said, smiling brightly. "Can you believe it?"

Her smile dispelled all remaining shadows. He caught her, tilted her head back and kissed her smiling lips. She leaned against him, breasts pressing against his chest, and moaned softly as her hip slid over his erection.

"Now that's what I call stamina," she murmured against his lips.

He kissed her jaw, then her neck. He caught the scent of her flowery perfume and realized that the ridiculous pillows on his bed now smelled of her.
